Vanda's Story

Let me share Vanda's story.   She arrived in Canada in 2010 with hopes of a better and safer life.   Her dream of a happy family life slipped away in November 2018 when she became a single mother.   Another loss came in March 2020 when she was laid off from her job at Winners.  She reflected:  "since last March I barely worked and it is the most frustrating feeling in life not to be sure if next week, next month or even next day you have something to provide for the kids to eat or if the rent will be paid."

Yet she remains determined to provide fresh and healthy food for her children.   She said:  "I always focus on feeding the kids as natural as possible.   We avoid anything processed.   It might sound picky but we are not.   I just want to build a healthy base for my kids."

She describes the Neighbourhood Table as heaven sent and evidence of God's care.   She shared: "I always pray and thank God for providing and sending us people like to you help. I give the program an A++"
