At one table

I am a single mom with two children.   We came to Canada from Iraq.  We are among those who got COVID and so the year has been very hard.  I enjoy having the whole family at one table.   But I worry about putting food on the table for my children.  I worry about providing healthy food for them.

Asking for help

Cynthia called the church to see if she and her children could be added to the good food program.   In chatting, we learned she had noticed a neighbour in her high-rise receiving a food delivery.  Given her family needs, she felt she had to ask if there was still room.   Although we could not start delivery for a week and there were only four weeks remaining, she was so grateful as she felt she had nowhere else to turn.   When her first weekly delivery ran a little late, Cynthia texted to make sure she was indeed still on the list.
