Our Ministry of Music:
Director of Music: Karen Quinton
Karen is a piano teacher as well as an organist and for many years served as Department Head for Keyboard at the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM).
She studied at McGill University, Montreal, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Moscow, and culminated her studies in London, England.
Karen has had a notable career as a solo pianist, playing in many cities in Canada, Europe, and China. She performed widely as a vocal collaborator, and also in a variety of chamber music ensembles at the RCM and elsewhere. She has worked as organist and choir director for many years in other congregations.
She lives in Etobicoke and is honoured and delighted to be joining St. Philip's Lutheran Church at this time.

Mark Kieswetter, Director of Music Emeritus 
Mark attended the University of Cincinnati where he was a piano performance major with a minor in organ. He has played extensively in Lutheran churches for most of his life, along with playing professionally, and teaching private students. Mark moved to Toronto from Toledo, Ohio where he was the Minister of Music at St. Paul Lutheran Church (ELCA).
He has been blessed with a wide range of influences and abilities from classical to jazz, and tries to bring these elements with him to the worship service to make the most “joyful noise” possible! Watch for MEK beside pieces in our worship -- Mark is gifted at arranging music.
Office Staff:
Charlotte Kertrestel, Office Administrator
Charlotte is a newcomer to Canada, originally from the United Kingdom. She has worked in roles in project management, marketing and communications, and intends to undertake a master’s degree in public administration.
Charlotte is also a part-time Royal Navy Reservist, and has experience working for the UK military in London and the Middle East.
In her spare time, Charlotte enjoys running and hiking, and is looking forward to exploring more of Canada’s beautiful scenery.
