During Advent, have a family Good Deeds Box - using a box as a "manger", add "straw" daily, a piece for each good deed, so that when it's Christmas you've made a soft bed for baby Jesus. Bake a wreath or ornaments together...
Salt dough wreath crafted by one of our families
Make up a batch of Salt Dough and have a family craft time. Here's a recipe. Make an Advent Wreath. Make sure to make the holes for candles. You can colour the dough before baking, or paint after.
Or use the salt dough to make ornaments - these could be given as gifts! More simple ideas and another Salt Dough recipe are here.
